First Farmer’s Market, 2010

A trip to farmer’s market makes me happy.

May 1st, we have our first farmer’s market in 2010. πŸ™‚

What a lovely morning.

Rolling Prairie Acres Farm

Rolling Prairie Acres Farm

Every year, I buy my tomato plants and herbs (Italian parsley, basil, hot pepper, thyme) from Rolling Prairie Acres Farm. Their organic heirloom tomatoes are off the hook! For those who have tried heirloom tomatoes, you know that the store bought tomatoes are… how should I put it, “not tomatoes”!!!!

Fairfield is a small town, so its farmer’s market is relatively small. But everyone knows everyone. I love saying hello to my favorite vendors and for sure I’ll see some friends at the farmer’s market.

How about some snacks? This french lady has served up delicious crepes at farmer’s market for years.

Listen

I am learning to listen to my inner voice and toΒ  trust my instinct.

Discover what makes me happy and do more of that.

Keep life simple and manageable.

Peel off layers that made of artificial materials.

Be genuine, be true to myself.

Do what I love, work hard on it and be very focus.

Make every day counts!

Bonzai Haircut

My bonzai plant has been screaming for a haircut whole winter long. I basically just ignored his request … until yesterday.

Pale, dull, overgrown

Before: Pale, dull, overgrown

I don’t really know how to trim a bonzai plant. It was a gift from my neighbor and I promised her that I will take good care of it. Ooops!

Okay, better late than never. I took out a scissor and started trimming away, trying to be as artistic as possible.

Here’s the result…

After: fresh & nice groomed

Let’s see the before and after together.

Ooo…. looking so handsome! πŸ™‚

How about a close-up?

It’s still looking a little pale. So, I signed him up for a sun tan session on the porch. I like to spoil my plants. πŸ™‚

Making Babies

I didn’t take my veggie beds with me when I moved to South 2nd last year. πŸ™

I plan to have four new veggie beds at this new property, but so far none is happening …. yet…

Since the weather is so good already, I feel like I am wasting time not to do anything about it.

So, finally I decided to JUST DO IT!

Ready to make babies

Ready to make babies

What I needed: Organic seeds, black soil, good old clay pots, homemade tags, magic hands, and…

voila!

Newborns coming soon...

Newborns coming soon...

I felt like I was tagging the newborns in the hospital ward. It was amazing how simple it was to bring lives to this world.

Now, with some water and sunshine, my babies will start growing. πŸ™‚

Hopefully I would have my veggie beds ready for these new babies two weeks from now.
